The Campfield - on Burnbake

The Campfield are adjacent to the main campsite. This field is available for hire in parts or as one area for scout camps, large group camps, school camps, events etc. The field is about 7 acres in size and is divided up into 3 large areas separated by fencing that can be sub divided for smaller groups (see map).

Bookings for the Campfield are for a minimum of 2 days, but are flexible otherwise. Use of the main campsite facilities, toilets and showers etc are restricted and only available on request dependent on the Main Campsite occupancy. We can arrange the hire of temporary toilets for your groups stay if required. This will need to be booked in advance and paid with your deposit.

We also manage 3 other fields on behalf of the Rempstone Estate ideally suited to scouting or non motorized water sport groups.  Please note there are NO facilities on thiese sites. Please apply to Burnbake Campsite for camping rates for these 3 areas info@burnbake.com or 01929 480570

Cleavel Point - (not on Burnbake)

( Map ref: SZ 001861 )  A pretty flat triangular shaped field of approximately 15 acres on OWER farm, boarded on two sides by Poole harbour with a good launching beach for canoes and sailing dinghies . The field can accommodate two large groups and is very popular with groups returning year after year, some recording 30 years of continuous visits.

The Reservoir - (not on Burnbake)

This camping site is on Goathorne farm (Map Ref.: SZ014847 ) and is approx. 5 acres in size split between a flat grass field with views across Poole harbour and an area of turf interspersed with gorse bushes. This area is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and only accommodates one group at a time. It is next to an old T- shaped clay pit with water 3 to 4 ft deep ideal for canoeing , raft building, rope bridges etc. The fresh water heats up with the weather and becomes nicely warm. This lake is also shared with any group occupying the Common site. The site is within walking distance of Studland beach.

The Common - (not on Burnbake)

Camping site ( map Ref: SZ 010850 ) is also on Goathorne Farm and extends to nearly 50 acres.  Scotch pine, heather and grass predominate. It is fairly flat and well sheltered and this free draining site is also a SSSI and so like the Reservoir site has to be managed carefully.  Occupants have shared use of the Reservoir for canoeing, raft building, rope bridges etc.

RULES

The same common sense terms and conditions apply to the Events Field as per the Main Campsite

Pitching distances – Please do your best to apply the 6 metre rule as illustrated at Burnbake Reception thus safeguarding your neighbour’s privacy and providing a natural fire break in case of emergency.

Fires – NO GROUND FIRES at all under any circumstances. We do allow wood fires but only in a container off the ground. (This may be revoked in exceptional weather/grounds conditions) We also hire fire pits on site (subject to availability)

Dogs – are very welcome and free of charge here! All we ask is that they be kept on a lead for the comfort of other guests and that you clear up any deposits.

Noise and disturbance – Please respect your neighbour’s quiet enjoyment. No noise after 10.30pm, loud music, foul language or other behaviours likely to cause offence to family campers. Remember noise travels particularly well at night. We appreciate that with a larger group the “volume control” has a tendency to rise! Please be conscious of this and act responsibly. Staff do live on site and will come and ask you to quieten down if necessary but we would really prefer that neither of us be put in that position! Amplified music is not allowed. Anyone displaying behaviours deemed to be antisocial by the Burnbake team may be asked to leave without refund.

Vehicles – Please follow any directional and speed limit signage and park with consideration for accesses and camping neighbour relations!

Rope swings – Please do not erect rope swings or other play structures in and around the site. They can be the cause of serious accidents. Please make use of the play equipment provided by us in the designated locations and ensure that your children are adequately supervised.

There is a requirement for users of the site to report without delay any damage to property, injuries, illness or significant dangerous occurrences so that any necessary action can be taken. Any aggression or abuse directed towards our staff will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The management reserves the right to refuse admission.
