Celebrity 5 Go Camping filmed at Burnbake - Episode 2
Channel 5 – Friday 11 January, 2019
This week the celebrity campers continue their escapade in the county of Dorset. With a landscape which has inspired the likes of Thomas Hardy and Jane Austen, this is the perfect location to explore countryside and coast.
The five adventurers have settled in the Isle of Purbeck, though with limited experience of outdoor life, they are quickly forced to get to grips with camping basics. The ill-equipped group’s first hurdle is the British weather as they realise that a cold night under canvas is not as cosy as forty winks in a centrally heated home.
Campsite cooking is a learning curve for youngest member Stephen, whose questionable culinary skills are put to the test time and again in the small kitchen. Whether it’s a one-pan fry-up or a boil-in-the-bag ration pack, Bailey attempts to demonstrate that he’s worthy of being the group’s head chef.
Another tricky task for the celebrities to master is the art of assembling a tent. With a burst of “girl power”, Cheryl and Michelle opt to tackle a six-man pop-up tent to prove their camping competence. Following several canvas collapses and a battle with the air-pump, they admit it’s not as easy as it looks.
Camp life can be hard work for any off-duty celebrity, so the five famous faces need to relax and have fun. On a visit to the Swanage Railway, Bobby lives out his childhood dream of driving a steam train while his camp mates absorb the local sights including ancient Corfe Castle and world-famous limestone arch Durdle Door.
No holiday to Dorset is complete without discovering the historic Jurassic Coast. The boys experience a fishing trip in Weymouth, where a friendly competition results in the losers cooking campsite dinner and Bobby finds himself in deep water when he tries kayaking for the first time.
