Purbeck Heaths

The Purbeck Heaths national nature reserve spans 3,331 hectares across Studland, Corfe Castle, Arne, Church Knowle, and Steeple with Tyneham. This includes the Rempstone Estate, where Burnbake Forest Lodges & Campsite calls home.

Along with their partners, The Purbeck Heaths brings together three smaller areas of existing nature reserves to make a bigger, better, and more joined up area for the animals, plants, and habitats to thrive.

ABOUT NNR

Habitats & species

The Purbeck Heaths landscape is a beautiful but complex mixture of habitats including the UK’s largest and best quality low lying wet and dry heathland. At Burnbake, we’re very fortune to often spot the local wildlife grazing and exploring on the grounds, especially in the quieter seasons, including an abundance of birds, rabbits, and deer.
