For the fisherman among you, Swanage and the Isle of Purbeck has something to suit everyone; it’s the perfect area for beach and pier fishing, with plenty of opportunities to book a fishing trip a little further out to sea. From Pevril Point or Durlston Bay you can fish for free, and at Pier it’s a small fee. Local shops also have all the supplies you’ll need, to save you dragging extra suitcases with you from home. Fish and chip supper? Of course Swanage has you covered.
Golfing
Prefer something a little more inland? Trade your rods for clubs and reserve your tee time at the Isle of Purbeck Golf Club. With spectacular views of Poole Harbour and the surrounding heathland throughout your game, you can still enjoy the beauty of nature whilst completing your 9 or 18 holes.
With no handicap required to play, and less than 10 minutes’ drive away from your Burnbake lodge, it’s a great opportunity to check out one of the Top 100 Gold Courses in the UK.
Cycling
For those of you who prefer to explore on wheels, you can hire bikes from our partners Cycle Experience during your stay, just pop your head into Reception to book your bikes. There’re some great cycle trails through the stunning, neighbouring heathland. Or sit back and take it all in from the comfort of Purbeck Safari’s land rover, one of our favourite ways to explore Dorset.
