Golden leaves, crackling fires, crisp coastal walks, and cosy cabin nights – it’s sweater season at Burnbake and we couldn’t be more excited. Let us indulge you with our favourite things to do when autumn comes to life…

Pssst – still pack your swimsuit as the bubbles are always toasty in the ‘hot’ tub!

Pumpkin, spice and everything nice

Hot chocolate and spiced lattés belong to autumn. Gather some delicious ingredients from our site shop and make crafting a cosy cuppa a true event. We’re whipped cream fanatics, but enjoy ultimate indulgence with some deliciously sweet toppings. Fluffy, sweet marshmallows are a classic – toasted on the fire for extra points! Though crunchy mini pretzels, cinnamon sticks, and spooktastic, Halloween-themed chocolate also hit the spot!

Traditional family fun

There’s something special about living a luxury lodge life, and a good, old-fashioned board or card game is the perfect evening activity for the whole family. From simple games like Snap, to a classic round of Go Fish, the amount of fun to be had with a humble pack of cards is not to be underestimated. Ahead of Halloween, why not light up some candles and delve into an evening of murder mystery fun with a game like Cluedo?

Look to the stars

Our unique location in the Cranborne Chase Dark Skies Reserve means Burnbake is a haven for stargazing. Autumn and winter are prime for admiring Dorset’s twinkling stars, due to long nights, early sunsets and glorious, unpolluted sky. Whilst brave explorers may fancy wrapping up for a spot of outdoor stargazing, your Burnbake balcony is a cosier option, meaning you can add a touch of natural magic to your getaway from the comfort of your lodge.

Far from the madding crowd

With the hazy days of summer a distant memory, the welcoming arms of autumn invites you to truly relax and perhaps pop for a local pint. The Weld Arms in Lulworth is not only home to plenty of fascinating history, it also welcomes four-legged-friends, so is the perfect spot to enjoy a drink and bite to eat for all the family. Situated a little further along Dorset’s stunning Jurassic Coast, the Three Horseshoes is an award-winning pub in Burton Bradstock. With its roaring fire and historic, thatched roof, this quaint spot has a truly cosy ambiance.

We’ve got midweek breaks available throughout autumn and winter, so why not book now to secure your stay in one of our charming lodges this season?
